Director's Diary {Sept 23'}

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear …Psalm 46:1, 2

God has given a place of refuge and strength even in the face of trouble. We are so prone to fear, but God is not! He is ever present to help us! Choose to have courage! God displayed His strength by helping each of the staff members in their weakness both physically and spiritually every week. To God’s glory, staff as well as campers’ hearts changed, and each speaker proclaimed God’s Word with boldness. God provided safe travel for speakers, campers and sponsors, staff, volunteers, and work groups all summer and fall! Praise the Lord for safety that our Refuge gives!

God allowed us to meet our

Matching Grant Fundraiser of $200,000 in just 7 months!

All the gifts came in by May 23!

A HUGE thanks again to all who gave.

Colan Deatherage Memorial Stone Bench Re-erected

The Colan Deatherage Memorial Stone Bench was re-erected the last week of camp. (Originally erected in 2016, the bench had to be disassembled after the fire in 2017.) Pastor Colan entered the presence of his Savior during the winter of 2014 while attending a Heritage Quest Camp. The bench honors Colan’s life of faithful service to Christ, and support of Red Cliff.

Worker's Appreciation Dinner

The Workers’ Appreciation Dinner held on August 4th brought many of our

volunteers and even some of our subcontractors to Camp for a wonderful meal in

the dining room of the new Lodge! The program for the evening shared the

blessings of volunteer labor, the donations of material and finance, a power point

review of where we started to where we have come, along with a proclamation of

the Gospel to those who do not know the Savior.

Update on the Lodge

We rejoice to tell you that God allowed us conditional occupancy in the Lodge on August 16th.

The kitchen ranges, fryer, and panels and compressors of the walk-ins arrived on

Sept. 18! Once these are installed there will be another fire inspection specifically

focused on the kitchen hood and its components. The trusses for the fire suppression

tank building, as well as the steel siding for the Lodge, should arrive Sept. 21.

Urgent Prayer Requests and Needs:

  • Good weather for erecting the roof on the FS tank building before winter

  • Inspection of the kitchen hood; installation of the walk-in cooler/freezer, etc.

  • Crews for installing floor tile, exterior siding, interior window and door trim

  • Gospel conversations with unsaved contractors, truck drivers, etc.
